    Cross Commuter

This bike started as an ugly Redline Conquest Pro frame. The cantilever brake mounts were removed and it was given a new paint job. It was then built up as a 1 x 6 speed with Shimano XTR derailleur and thumbshifter, XT cranks, Thomson stem and seatpost, Chris King headset, Brooks saddle, Avid disc brakes and WTB 29er wheels. It also has Roadrunner foot retention straps locally made by Stephen Montano. The 45c tires make it a nice ride on asphalt and dirt.

Once again I picked up another Redline with a terrible paint job. Their paint jobs always seem to suck, but I do think they make decent medium level frames. This one in particular is a 2007 Conquest Pro cyclocross frameset. It's made from U6 aluminum tubing and I'm mostly interested in it because is has disc brake tabs. The first thing I did was grind off all the cantilever brake mounts which cleaned up the look of the frame quite a bit. After that I sprayed it and buffed the paint out to more of a flat finish. Now I'm just waiting on parts. . .
